We will be focusing on more geographical terms and parts of the earth over the next month in order to prepare for the geography bee and also for 6th and 7th grades. I put a new website on the "Just for kids" tab for the kids to gather information, play games, and brush up. Check it out!
I have finally posted the first pictures to your child's pinterest board! Look for the label "2015-#" and the number will be your child's number in my class. (Ask them, they know it) For today's post, you may also want to look at the "Big Picture" board to see the key for how they decorated their party dude. It was all about how they learn best and what they like and dislike about school. Have fun! I'll try to post at least 1 thing every month! That's my goal, hold me to it!
I had a parent ask what the DARE report should include. Each student received this information from Deputy Gillespie. I took a quick snapshot of the information in case it doesn't make it home.
D.A.R.E. Report rubric
DARE report is due next Wednesday! It is the only homework Deputy Gillespie asks of them and it will be part of their writing grade. The kids are asked to write or type at least 15 sentences telling what they learned during DARE. A great way to get this done is to type it on Google Drive. They have gmail accounts that they can access from home and then share their document with me. Below are instructions on how to access this at home. Call if you have more questions!
How to access Google Drive at home:
Go to www.heartlandschools.org
Click on "Quick Links" on the right margin
Click on "HCS Gmail and Google Drive"
Sign in with account and password given to the kids (in their planners)
Click on the mini squares up in the top right corner by your name
Select "Drive"
Click on the red "New" icon
Select "Google Doc"
Start typing!
