We are going to be starting a new song for the next (and last) social skill for Second Step. Here it is! Learn it well! :) Life doesn't get easier or more forgiving, we get stronger and more resilient. - Steve Maraboli
Resilience Fact While most people think of themselves as resilient, they are not well-prepared to face adversity in its many forms, whether daily hassles, major setbacks at school or personal life, or traumatic events. Benefits of Increasing Resilience Resilience helps you move through the chronic stress and everyday hassles of daily life such as arguments at home or school, minor health issues and homework overloads. Tips to Increase Resilience Use visualization to relax. Close your eyes and imagine yourself in a calm relaxing place. People often choose to imagine beaches, mountains, woodlands, gardens. Imagine the sights and sounds of the scene. Once you have a calming scene you may choose to repeat a phrase such as "I am relaxed" or "I am feeling peaceful." youthfrontiersIt's part of our human nature to worry about what others think of us. When we're dealing with this fear, we often respond by putting on different "masks" — to face strangers, our friends, and even our family — just to fit in. But what if we all showed up just as we are? Today, take off the mask. Be yourself and try to see others just as they are, too. Only then can we build community and experience true belonging. P.S. Always remember we love your face! 😍 #courage #weloveyourface
