We all have bad days. Days when our words or actions toward others are unkind. Days when others hurt us. Days when we just can't seem to agree with each other. But life's too short to stay angry at those who truly care about you. Sometimes, apologizing can feel like "giving in" to the other person in an argument. In reality, it takes more strength to start reparations than to sustain a rift. Summon that strength today. Write a note, make a phone call, hug it out — whatever you know will help you make peace. You can make that bad day better.

It's natural to look forward – to get excited for your birthday, the next school dance, the big game or your new class – but remaining in a state of waiting can make you miss the good that's happening now. Stop rushing through what's in front of you. As hard as it might be, reserve some of that excitement about the future for whatever happens today. Live in the present, appreciate each moment and before you know it, the much-anticipated event will arrive.
